Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan’s dismissal of Malky Mackay on Friday saw the Scotsman become the Premier League’s sixth managerial casualty this season.

However, Mackay’s departure was already anticipated as Tan had sent the 41-year-old an email with an ultimatum to resign or be sacked just 11 days earlier.

Nevertheless, it had seemed as if Tan had rescinded his threat as chairman Mehmet Dalman had said Mackay would remain in charge for the “foreseeable future”, although a 3-0 defeat to Southampton proved to be the final straw for Tan.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has subsequently been installed as the bookies’ favourite to be sacked next after a run of form, which has seen the Hammers win just once in the last 12 games and slip to 19th in the table.

The majority of Goal Singapore readers agree with the bookmakers’ assessment, with 53.3% of them voting for Allardyce to be fired next.

29.3% of the remaining voters plumped for Aston Villa’s Paul Lambert to be the next to go, while 17.3% voted that Norwich’s Chris Houghton would be shown the door next.

Following their 3-3 draw against West Brom on Saturday night, the Hammers sit 19th in the table and one point off 17th-placed Crystal Palace at the halfway stage of the season.

They have however, been heavily affected by injuries to key players such as defender Winston Reid and record signing Andy Carroll, who has yet to play this season.

Their defence has also been suspect of late, having conceded nine goals in their last three games, including last night’s 3-3 draw against West Bromwich Albion.

Aston Villa’s form has also been similarly woeful, which has seen them slip to 13th in the table after failing to win in five games.

Norwich, are one spot lower at 14th, and are winless in four games.
