Global market trends experts Stanley Kee and Fabio Trabucchi will banner the powerhouse cast of foreign speakers at the Philippine Franchise Association’s (PFA) Franchise Asia Philippines (FAPHL) 2014 International Franchise Conference on July 16 and 17 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.


Kee, regional chief of international market intelligence provider GfK Asia Pte. Ltd. Singapore, will speak on the topic “International Retail and Shopping Trends: Making Things Personal” on Day One of the conference’s Plenary Session.


Trabucchi, director of the Retail and Shopper Client Service of Samsung Global Insight Leader TNS RI Korea, will give his views on the topic “The Next Phase of Retail—Innovations that Will Change How Consumers Shop,” also on Day One of the conference’s Plenary Session.


“With the knowledge and expertise of Kee and Trabucchi, we hope to equip Philippine franchisers with the marketing insights they need as they prepare for the Asean [Association of Southeast Asian Nations] economic integration happening at the end of 2015. The PFA Board was unanimous in inviting Kee and Trabucchi to give a presentation at this year’s international conference,” PFA President Franklin Go said.

Kee spent two-thirds of his 25 years of working life in market research. He joined GfK Asia in early 2000 to head the company’s imaging business, and further added telecommunications to his portfolio in 2003.


Appointed to spearhead business development in Asia in 2007, he developed the company’s Game Software, Optics and Automotive businesses. In 2009 he became GfK’s Commercial Director for Asia. He was subsequently named Managing Director for Southeast Asia in 2012.


 Kee holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Curtin, Australia and an MBA from the Helsinki School of Economics.


Trabucchi, who handles retail strategy and programs that are based on different market researches carried out worldwide, started his career in Italy as an interviewer for several market research firms and was trained for QT srl. In 1997 Fabio moved to Envirosell, an American company, and stayed there for seven years until he was promoted as the country research manager.


He bravely started his own firm —In Store Factor—that ran for eight years. It conducted studies on the retail environment and its shoppers. He was able to handle huge accounts such as Swatch, Footlocker, IKEA and PG. His company merged with TNS Italy where he became the retail and shopper account manager.


Trabucchi has 17 concrete years in the Market Research Industry specializing in Retail Studies and Shopper Behavior Analysis. He finished his degree as an engineer in Italy.


The other foreign experts presenting at the international franchise conference are Tony Harris, chief executive of creative agency BBDO Guerrero which conceptualized the Department of Tourism’s “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” campaign; Judd Williams, director for Middle East and Asia of Costa Coffee; Ichiro Roy Fujita, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of I. Fujita International Inc.; 


Dhritiman “DC” Chakrabarti, segment leader for talent and rewards (South East Asia) and regional practice leader for rewards (Asia Pacific) of Towers Watson; Josh Merin, certified franchise executive (CFE), director of international affairs, International Franchise Association; Swati Chawla, Southeast Asia talent management practice leader of Towers Watson; Patrick Linden, CEO of iBuy Group Limited; Jasper Heyden, cofounder and managing director of Food Panda Philippines; Harish Babla, CFE, managing director of Global Franchise Masters Private Ltd. and Franchise Mind USA; and noted franchise expert Greg Nathan, CFE, founder of Franchise Relationships Institute of Australia, who will also be the program speaker and facilitator for this year’s CFE program.
