The first major event will be the Women’s Tennis Championship that Singapore will host from 2014 to 2018.

The sports hub is just one of many projects Singapore is embarking on to improve the quality of life for its citizens and build lifestyle and leisure activities to improve tourism appeal.

A national art gallery is  also due to open mid-2015 in the former city hall. Singapore Sports Hub.

The Singapore Sports Hub will feature a cluster of affordable lifestyle facilities including a retail mall, restaurants, skate park, lawn bowl green, climbing wall, beach volleyball court, hard courts, sports library and museum.
