THE sight of three human-sized pillows running wildly in Kuala Lumpur recently drew smiles and laughter from the public.
The event was part of Accor Hotels’ ibis three-day Pillow Hunt campaign last week to reinforce its presence by engaging digital media communities and potential guests directly.
Accor Malaysia-Indonesia-Singapore senior vice president Gerard Guillouet said the ibis Pillow Hunt was not only fun and beneficial for travellers, but also encouraged netizens to discover the three ibis brands, each with its own personality.
Aware that they could stand a chance to win a complimentary night stay at any Accor hotel in Malaysia, Indonesia or Singapore, revellers in Bukit Bintang, Pavilion and KLCC willingly requested to be photographed with the pillows.
Then they had to upload the pictures to #ibispillowhunt on Accorhotels.com.
The group will organise another campaign with more cheerful elements at the end of the year with Facebook and Twitter applications.
The three pillows represent the ibis Family icons namely ibis Hotels (Red), ibis Styles Hotels (Green) and ibis Budget Hotels (Blue) each catering for different customer segments.
Travellers will enjoy quiet rooms and comfortable bedding with attentive staff throughout their stay at ibis hotels. Each ibis Styles hotel features a unique, cozy and contemporary decor with WiFi access. Budget travellers may get the lowest available rate at ibis budget hotels.
There are currently only two ibis Styles Hotels in the country — ibis Styles Kuala Lumpur Fraser Business Park and ibis Styles Kuala Lumpur Cheras. Ibis Styles Hotel Ipoh will start operations next month.
