Marina Bay Sands is latest hotel to stop serving shark"s fin

MARINA Bay Sands (MBS) has become the latest hotel here to stop serving shark’s fin in its restaurants and at the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) events it hosts.

The hotel said yesterday that the move to go fin-free aligns with its global-sustainability strategy to be environmentally responsible.

“Removing shark’s fin from the menus across our different business units is a bold testament to our commitment to reducing our environmental impact,” said Kevin Teng, MBS’s director of sustainability.

Among hotels here, Regent Singapore, Hilton Singapore and Swissotel Merchant Court stopped serving the dish in 2012; 11 other hotels did so before that.
