SINGAPORE- InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, was recognised for its commitment to environmental practices, with two properties in Singapore picking up the prestigious ASEAN Green Hotel Award 2013.
Crowne Plaza Changi Airport and Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium were among ten hotels named in Singapore to receive the accolades at the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2014 held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
In addition, four IHG hotels in Singapore were recognised in the 2013 annual Benchmarking Assessment Report by EarthCheck, which tracks the environmental impact resulting from the operations of each property. InterContinental Singapore, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium and Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre each earned the EarthCheck Silver Certification 2013 for performing better than the Best Practice Level in energy consumption.
The four hotels also received the Singapore Green Hotel Award 2013, with InterContinental Singapore bagging an additional Water Efficient Building (Silver) Award which acknowledges the hotel for its water efficiency measures in its operations.
