Asia Naphtha/Gasoline-Cracks down as naphtha deals muted, gasoline available

SINGAPORE, April 1 (Reuters) - Asia"s naphtha crack was at a two-session low of $139.13 a
tonne on Tuesday because spot deals from South Korea were muted, while the gasoline crack was at
a four-session low of $7.70 a barrel as supplies were sufficient despite an outage in Malaysia.
Traders said state-owned oil company Petronas shut a gasoline-making unit in late March at
its joint-venture plant with Phillips 66 in Malacca following an outage. It was unclear when the
unit would resume operations.
Petronas could not be reached for comment.
On naphtha, Taiwan"s CPC was looking to buy 35,000 tonnes of full-range naphtha and another
35,000 tonnes of heavy naphtha for April 26 to May 20 arrival at Mailiao.
It was unclear if it had managed to buy the cargoes although its tender stated that offers
were to stay valid until April 2.
As for South Korea, a major importer of naphtha in Asia, most buyers in the country have
completed buying cargoes for first-half May delivery in the last few weeks.
"Most of the buyers have completed their first-half May purchases and traders are now
waiting for demand for second-half May cargoes," a Singapore-based trader said, explaining why
there could be a temporary lull in the market.

SINGAPORE CASH DEALS: Eight deals. Five on gasoline and three on naphtha.
Sietco was behind the three naphtha deals as it sealed two second-half May/first-half June
naphtha spread trades with sellers Socar and BP, each at $9.50 a tonne each.
Sietco also bought a first-half June naphtha cargo from Statoil at $937 a tonne.
Glencore sold to BP a 92-octane gasoline cargo for April 22-26 loading at $115.50 a barrel
and a 92-octane gasoline cargo to Vitol for April 22-26 loading at $115.30 a barrel.
Trafigura sold to PetroChina a 92-octane gasoline cargo for April 16-20 loading at $115.30 a
barrel and another 92-octane gasoline cargo to SK Energy for April 16-20 loading at $115.20 a
barrel.
Trafigura went on to sell to Sietco a 95-octane gasoline cargo for April 21-25 loading at
$119.40 a barrel.
