Singapore Airlines and Singapore Tourism Board target UK in £1.9m campaign



Singapore Airlines and Singapore Tourism Board have launched a £1.9 million joint campaign to promote the destination in key international markets including the UK.



The partnership, running until June 2015, will focus on the development of new products and experiences tailored to specific markets, which also include the US, Australia, Germany, China, India and Japan.


The airline and tourist board have already worked together on a project, Singapore Stopover Holiday in 2013, to encourage more stopover stays and involved creating a package of activities designed for different markets such as an itinerary including cultural sights for the European market.


Lynette Pang, assistant chief executive, marketing group for STB, said: “SIA and STB will leverage each other’s consumer and trade insights to ensure that travellers have a more in-depth Singapore experience that meets their needs and wants.


“This partnership is a momentous one for both STB and the tourism industry in Singapore. Working closely with industry partners is critical to driving Singapore tourism development to the next level.”


Chin Yau Seng, Singapore Airlines’ senior vice president for sales and marketing, said: “This partnership reflects the long-term commitment of both Singapore Airlines and the Singapore Tourism Board to further promote a flourishing and vibrant tourism industry in Singapore.”
