Buying Tickets For Singapore Events to Get Much Easier

Pison Ticket Tech, the company behind Indonesian online ticketing service KiOSTiX, will soon offer ticketing for entertainment events in Singapore.

In an attempt to capitalize on the growing number of affluent Indonesians travelling to the neighboring country, Pison Ticket Tech president director Arief Santosa signed a cooperation agreement with the Singapore Tourism Board on Wednesday that allows KiOSTiX to provide information and tickets for attractions, events and live performances in the city state.

“We believe that musical shows and favorite band performances in Singapore will no longer be overlooked as Indonesian consumers will always get the latest information from the STB and ticket sales services at KiOSTiX with ease,” Arief said.

Indonesia is the largest source of international tourists to Singapore. Some 2.08 million Indonesian tourists visited Singapore during the first nine months of last year who between them spent S$2.3 billion ($1.8 billion). Both figures were up about 8 percent compared to the same period in 2011.

The cooperation with the STB will allow KiOSTiX to be provide more useful information about events in Singapore to prospective Indonesian visitors, Arif said.

The company expects Indonesian consumers’ demand for entertainment to grow steadily in line with the increasing purchasing power of middle- and upper-income households.

KiOSTiX sells tickets through the Internet, including a special website for mobile devices, as well as 11 major purchase counters in shopping malls in Jakarta.

It also offers its service through more than 7,000 Indomaret and more than 50 7-Eleven convenience stores, temporary event ticket boxes and a seven-day-a-week phone service.

KiOSTiX plans to open additional outlets in Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, Yogyakarta and Denpasar, Arif said.

KiOSTiX holds an exclusive license from Sistic, the largest ticketing service and solution provider in Singapore, holding a 90 percent market share.

Sistic sells tickets to events including pop concerts, musicals, theatrical performances, family entertainment and sporting events, including the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix.

Featured shows next month in Singapore include a concert by British musician Ronan Keating and the stage show “Dirty Dancing.”

The 100-minute flight between Jakarta and Singapore is serviced by national carriers Singapore Airlines, Garuda Indonesia and budget airlines Lion Air and AirAsia.
