D.C.’s high-end hotel landscape gets a prominent addition this week when Capella Washington D.C. opens its luxury doors in Georgetown on Wednesday.  The hotel group touts its “experiences” in which it bundles amenities like personal assistants, limousine tours of the town, and massages into different packages. The rooms – based on searches on their website – generally start at $595 a night, before added experiences. The hotel will feature 49-rooms and suites, including two presidential suites and the guest rooms have been crafted to resemble elegant private residences.

Capella currently operates properties in Cabo San Lucas; Dusseldorf, Germany; and Singapore; the company is run by chairman and CEO Horst Schulze, who shaped the luxury hotel experience when he was the founding president of the Ritz Carlton Hotels.
