Being in the field for the last 8 years in a relatively new meadow which is now slowly assuming a greater role in the changed world scenario, Sahil and Sajid had the head start of being pioneers in the field. As a team they are specialized in executing corporate events and signature weddings, which is their exclusive forte. Be it mega celebrations, birthday parties, weddings, corporate launches, dinner parties, cultural events, concerts, exhibitions or sports tournaments, it is the name of Platform Productions that first comes to mind. “Platform Productions offers a package service. He may not be seen but his invisible presence is perceptible in every aspect of our work”.

Throughout the eight years of their association Sahil and Sajid have worked with some of the ‘who is who’ in various fields earning a reputation of being the best in the business. ‘We are a package. If we shoulder the responsibility of conducting an event the host can be carefree without worrying about the nitty-gritty of organizing the event. Our responsibility includes crisis management if and when it arises”, Sajid declares.

Filling a Vacuum

Sahil, a B Com graduate, has come a long way from being a mimicry artiste during his college days to a RJ and VJ and now as an event manager. His transition has been perfunctory but towards a definite goal to make best use of his manifold talents. Sahil’s charisma and sense of timing makes him the most enigmatic master of ceremonies and certainly the most sought after Master of Ceremonies.
 
“As a Master of Ceremony to some of the events, I was able to handle complex situations with ease and I was appreciated for my talent to conduct. I was also a witness to the unprofessional manner in which events used to be conducted here and wanted to fill that vacuity. Mangalore did not have a professional event management company though it was a tier II city. I foresaw huge potential in the field and that facilitated my entry in this challenging field of event management. I love taking up challenges and living up to it” Sahil says in his usual ebullience.

As a master of ceremonies Sahil’s role is that of a captain of the ship. With his huge repertoire of dialogues and command over multiple languages Sahil helps to direct the flow of events at any event. His mere presence makes a difference between a dowdy event and an excellent one. He can break into a song or an Urdu couplet or a shayari if a situation arises, to send the crowd into utter delirium. That is like winning half the battle. His charming personality and oratory skills puts people at ease even in most tense moments.

In his scheme of plan to be an event management company of high standing Mohammad Sajid fitted in perfectly. Sajid has brought in his vast experience of working with some of the big Bollywood names in Mumbai including 23 productions with singer Sunidhi Chowhan. His capacity not to lose confidence and continue working even when faced with tremendous pressure is legendary. His approach is to take every event as a first time event.

For the duo the memories of successful crisis management in a wedding reception involving a prominent businessman in the city are fresh and deep-seated. The wedding reception was held in an open area in Kulai in 2013 and the previous night’s heavy downpour created a nightmarish situation for the host and for Platform Productions who were in charge of the event. The location of the reception had become slushy giving fretful moments to the host. But the company took up the challenge and in just eight hours succeeded in recreating the venue to the satisfaction of all. “It was challenging and it tested our power of resilience. Looking back we feel proud of having handled the crisis proficiently”, Sahil recalls.

Creativity the Hallmark

Sajid says the trick is “to present a mundane theme packaged in an attractive and new way to leave an imprint”. The execution is what matters, to make it a wonderful experience for the audience.

Platform Productions is also undertaking destiny weddings which entails taking the entire entourage and guests to a venue both within and outside the country to make it a memorable event. These days many parties want to hold weddings or other celebrations in well-known destination in Dubai, Thailand or Singapore to have that stamp of exclusivity. The company can arrange a red carpet welcome to the party and also a signature banquet or ambience which means a glass of juice offered to guests may contain their initials or the chairs offered at the venue will have their names etc. This calls for much more planning and detailed attention because it is conducted in an unfamiliar terrain and involves booking restaurants, transportation, arranging visa passports and ensuring safety of the guests. Sajid maintains that that a visually appealing milieu is necessary to create a distinctive atmosphere.
