Singaporean found dead in Johor hotel

JOHOR BARU — A Singaporean man was found dead in a hotel room in Johor Baru on Tuesday.

Malaysian news agency Bernama reported that 62-year-old Lee Chiang Yong was found unconscious in his hotel room by an employee on duty at about 1.37pm on Tuesday.

In a statement, South Johor Baru district police chief Sulaiman Salleh said an examination carried out in the ambulance revealed that the man had died. The police did not find any injury or any trace of criminal element on the deceased, who had checked in to the Jalan Wong Ah Fook hotel on Tuesday.

“The body was sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for post-mortem and the Singapore Consulate here has been informed to trace his next-of-kin,” said Mr Sulaiman.
