Singapore Airlines is boosting its flights to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane over the busy Australian summer travel period.

A spokeswoman for the airline confirmed to Australian Business Traveller that from November 22 2014 until January 31 2015 (Singapore time), Sydney and Melbourne pick up an extra three flights each week.

Over the same period, Brisbane also gets an additional two weekly services.

Departing from Sydney, the new SQ252 flight takes to the skies at 7:40am on Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays, touching down at Singapore’s Changi Airport at 12:45pm that afternoon.

On the return, SQ251 pushes back at 7:25pm on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, reaching Sydney at 6:25am the following morning.

Melbourne residents can board SQ248 for a late-night departure on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with the flight wheels-up at 12:30am, setting down in Singapore at 5:10am on the same morning.

Out of Singapore, SQ247 departs at 12:40pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for an 11:15pm arrival into Melbourne.

Travellers from the Sunshine State can jump on SQ266 on Fridays and Sundays, taking off at 6:05pm and kissing the ground at 12:05am the next morning.

Coming home to Brisbane, SQ265 taxis from the gate in Singapore at 6:50am and pulls in at 4:50pm – just in time for dinner.

All seasonal flights are served by the airline’s Airbus A330-300 fleet – complete with 30 angled lie-flat beds in business class and 255 seats in economy – and can now be booked via the Singapore Airlines website:

Members of Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer program could earn 9,780 KrisFlyer miles on the return business class journey from Sydney, while those on the cheapest economy fares can earn just 391 miles in each direction.

That’s the same number of points earned through Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer scheme, so choose the program that works best for you.
