What To Buy At The Raffles Hotel Gift Shop

Gallery: The Raffles Hotel Gift Shop: A Buyer’s Guide

The selection is truly dazzling, and while every person has his or her own taste, we initially gravitated towards a wall filled with porcelain cups, saucers, teapots, creamer jug, plates, and bowlsall stamped with the requisite Raffles logo. There was a range of prices, though the cup and saucer set started at USD $45.

Meanwhile, the leather pursesembossed with the phrase “My lovely weekend in Singapore”(USD $159), the brown fleece slippers (USD $45), and the tea tins (from USD $19)one blend for each time of dayall enchanted us as well, and perfectly captured the hotel’s sophisticated, Colonial-era vibe.

As we exited the shop (tea tin in hand), we saw a sign pointing to the Long Bar, where countless tourists flock to taste the famous “Singapore Sling” in the venue where it was supposedly invented. But we kept walking. At least our money was spent on something we can actually take home and share with our friends.
