The Singapore-listed offshore support vessel owner and
builder will pocket $60m for the charter contracts if options are exercised.
All of the vessels are part of Jaya’s speculative
newbuilding programme including its first high specification vessel.
The 4,800-dwt Jaya Valour, which is due to hit the water at
the end of July, has been fixed for up to three years in South East Asia with
an existing customer.
The 3,500-dwt sisters Jaya Victory and Jaya Valiant will be delivered
in the first half of 2014 before being handed to a new client in Latin America
on three-year contracts.
Venkatraman Sheshashayee, CEO, said: “The PSV market is
strengthening both in Asia and the rest of the world.
“Both the surge in deep water drilling and the need to
stimulate production from older shallow water fields are increasing demand for
high specification platform supply vessels.
“The charters for Jaya Victory and Valiant also mark our
foray into the booming Latin American market and are very much in line with our
market growth and geographical diversification strategies.”
A fourth vessel, Jaya Vigilant, is a sistership to Jaya
Valour but is being fitted with a 50-tonne deep water crane ahead of entering
service in September.
“There’s currently a backlog of underwater inspection and
repair work in the region, and the vessel is perfect for ROV support,” Sheshashayee
said.
Jaya has two additional large anchor handlers delivering
from its Singapore yard in the next 12 months and three specialised subsea and
accommodation workboats delivering from its yard in Batam, Indonesia.
The company currently owns and operates more than 25 offshore
vessels working across South East Asia, the Middle East and West Africa.
