Leading overseas relocation specialist, Interdean, has welcomed the news that job vacancies in Singapore have risen for a third consecutive quarter.

It follows the publication of Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower labour market report for the first quarter of 2014.

The rate of increase in the first three months of the year was 3%, which is slower than the 9.2% in December 2013 and 5.8% in September 2013.

However, total employment in the country grew by 28,300. This is lower than the increase of 40,600 in the last quarter of 2013, but almost identical to the 28,900 recorded for the first quarter of 2013.

This contributed to an overall employment figure of 3,552,200 in March 2014, a 4% rise on the number recorded a year ago.

As a leading international shipping and removal services provider, Interdean has backed the report into the ongoing prosperity of the job market in Singapore.

A spokesperson for the company said: “The news that job vacancies in Singapore have risen for a third consecutive quarter is excellent news for professionals looking to relocate overseas. It is indicative of a job market that continues grow at a rate that is outpacing many of its Asian neighbours and we only see it continuing to flourish.

“Those who move to Singapore can truly look forward to an excellent quality of life with outstanding career prospects. To those relocating to this wonderful country, I urge you to contact Interdean for all your shipping and removals requirements and ensure that your new life gets off to the best possible start,” he added.
