The Bistro Group, which is behind T.G.I.Friday’s, Italianni’s, Fish and Co., and Watami, has joined the current katsu craze with Tonkatsu by Terazawa in Greenbelt 2.

The brainchild of Chef Akinori Terazawa with 20 years of successful operation to back it up, Tonkatsu by Terazawa’s katsu specialities is enjoyed not just in Japan as it has also opened in countries such as Malaysia, Singapore and now the Philippines.

Tonkatsu by Terazawa aims to differentiate itself by offering Nagoya-style katsu. Terazawa, a Nagoya native, uses miso (soy bean paste), which gives it a distinct sweet and salty taste. He also uses aged meat for a more flavorful quality. This process, as claimed by Terazawa, is the most important part of the tonkatsu process.
