From LAX, connecting service (change of plane) to Yangon is offered on China Airlines, Singapore, Malaysia and China Eastern. Restricted round-trip fares begin at $893, including taxes and fees. Kalaw has no airport but Air Mandalay, http://www.airmandalay.com, and Air Bagan, http://www.airbagan.com, fly from Yangon to Heho three times a day. You can also reach Kalaw by air-conditioned bus from Yangon, a 12-hour ride. Tickets are about $13 and can be purchased at many Yangon hotels. Train service from Yangon is also available, with an overnight stay in Thazi at the Moon Light Guesthouse, followed by a scenic ride to Kalaw in the morning.
