· The Next Tryp Will Be Panama: Tryp by Wyndham has been wowing us for a while now with its handy fitness-themed rooms and aristocratic lobby bars. Well, here’s one more Tryp to keep in mind for your next, er.trip to Central America. On August 1, Tryp Panama Allbrook Mall will open inside Latin America’s largest shopping center (it’s got over 600 shopsalmost double the number of rooms in the hotel!) 6a795 Shangri La Qufu China Confucius Hotel

· Confucius SaysStay At the Shangri-La Qufu: While London’s Shangri-La at the Shard continues to be delayed, it seems there is movement on a new Shangri-La property in Qufu, China. Approximately 2 hours from Beijing, the city of Qufu is famously known as the birthplace of Confucius, and contains three UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Sites (the Temple of Confucius, the Mansion of Confucius and the Cemetery of Confucius).

Shangri-La Hotel, Qufu is set to open August 1. Appropriately, the lobby will reflect the three key principles of Confucian philosophyorder, harmony, and hierarchywith red lacquer panels, a 28-foot glass ceiling decorated with lantern-shaped light fixtures, and two full-grown trees surrounded by “a carpet of grass.” Half of the 211 rooms will feature balconies facing the Yi River, and all rooms offer free WiFi. Rates from $113/night.

· Westin Will Be Singapore’s Freshest Hotel: Starwood made a splash in Singapore last September with the opening of W Sentosa Cove, but it seems its work there isn’t yet done. In November, the new Westin Singapore will open near Marina Bay, a convenient walk from many of the major Financial District office buildings. Details remain scant on the property, however we know that it will be a major opening for the brand, and it will offer SPG members greater opportunities for rewards in the Lion City. Among the hotel’s features will be 3 restaurants, an outdoor pool, 24-hour gym, spa, and 301 guest rooms. Rates unknown.

· 17th Time’s The Charm For Hyatt In India: Last but certainly not least, the 451-room Hyatt Regency Gurgaon is now India’s 17th Hyatt hotel, located in New Delhi’s National Capital Regionperfect for tourists exploring the country’s “Golden Triangle” of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Having officially opened last week, the hotel is located on a 6-acre site just 30 minutes from Indira Gandhi Int’l AIrport.
