Cathay summer specials

As part of its destination campaign titled “Hong Kong Style,” Cathay Pacific has launched two summer specials.

This campaign is in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board for the purpose of boosting travel to Hong Kong under the concept of “vacation for adults with fun treat.”

Through July 12, people can get a chance to win a three-day, two-night trip for two to Hong Kong on the airline’s business class, including accommodations in a suite of the Peninsula Hong Kong, through the campaign’s special website www.cathaypacific.co.jp/hongkong/gohoubi . The winner will be picked in a drawing and other awards such as an original pouch from LeSportsac are also available.

Another campaign, the recipe contest, will be held from June 17. People should submit an original Chinese dish to Japan’s popular recipe site Cookpad by June 30. From July 1 to 15, all recipes will be judged and the winner will receive a voucher for two to lunch at Hei Fung Terrace at the Peninsula Tokyo.

KLM fares with stopover

KLM offers special return fares to Europe and the Middle East for tickets booked and purchased by June 22.

Choose any of over 70 cities, including Rome, Madrid, London and Milan, and combine it with a stopover in Paris for as little as ¥50,000, excluding taxes and surcharges.

These fares are available from travel agencies and KLM’s homepage and call center. Travel must take place between Aug. 1 and Oct. 31.

The major attraction of these special fares is a stopover in one city chosen from 70 cities on either leg of the journey, outward or returns, at no extra charge throughout the summer vacation period and the autumn business travel season.

Higher minimum advanced booking fares apply as follows: ¥99,000 from Aug. 1 to Sept. 21, and ¥70,000 from Sept. 22 to 30. Prices exclude tax and surcharges.

Singapore mobile services

Singapore Airlines has launched a new mobile website called SQ mobile ( mobile.singaporeair.com ) as well as new iPhone and Android apps (from Thursday) that offer customers various features and services.

Among the services, customers can check in using a mobile phone anytime between two and 48 hours prior to departure. For selected flights, they can issue and save their Mobile Boarding Pass onto their smartphone — available only on the new mobile website and with second-generation apps. Customers can also select seats after completing the mobile check-in.

Customers can book a flight for themselves or with their family and friends, anytime and anywhere, using a smartphone, and they can retrieve the bookings, too. Other services to check the flight status as well as schedule through the phone will be available.
