PETALING JAYA (May 16, 2013): Firefly, a Malaysia Airlines subsidiary, expects a 15% to 20% increase in revenue this year.

“Although April was slow, we picked up after May,” its CEO Ignatius Ong (pix) told reporters at a press conference on Firefly’s latest offering, the “Everyday Low Fare” package.

The package, launched on May 13 this year, offers 500,000 seats for travel between June 13, 2013 and March 2014.

Firefly’s Everyday Low Fares start from RM49 to RM249 for destinations in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

Ong said the promotion is not just for affordable fares but also to reach out to all segments of travellers and to create awareness on travel insurance.

Firefly operates a fleet of ATR 72-500 turboprops out of Penang and Subang, connecting secondary destinations within the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand growth triangle as well as linkages between Malaysia and Singapore. – Bernama
