Singapore Airlines, the title sponsor for the seventh Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, is offering Indian travellers up to 15 per cent discount on base fares for travel from September 11-25, 2014. Select travel agents, in association with Singapore Tourism Board (STB), are also offering all-inclusive F1 packages to the event, which will be held from September 19-21. The packages, starting from SGD 1,453, include flights at the discounted rates, four-night-three-day accommodation, and tickets to the race. The Singapore Grand Prix is held at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
David Lau, General Manager (India), Singapore Airlines, said, “It is a great thing to sponsor such a huge event. The Grand Prix has always attracted fans from across the world, and we have decided to offer this discount to boost travel from India. The response for the recently launched Airbus A380 is also good and gratifying. We would like to see more Indians opting for the new flight, and of course, coming down to Singapore for the F1 race.
Passengers travelling from Mumbai and New Delhi on the A380 will receive ten per cent discount on the base fare for travel between September 11 and 25. Economy Class passengers travelling on Singapore Airlines or SilkAir from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram will receive 15 per cent discount on the base fare. To avail of the offer, bookings must be made for at least two people.
Chang Chee Pey, Executive Director, South Asia, Middle East and Africa, STB, said, “Singapore is always a perennial favourite with Indian tourists when it comes to finding a travel destination that offers unique, quality holiday experiences, catering to different needs. Come September, race enthusiasts will be dazzled as Singapore transforms into a glittering street circuit illuminated by 16,000 custom-made floodlights, making it the only night race in the Grand Prix history. Concert-goers will be thrilled by the electrifying entertainment line up this year, as well as the host of parties and music events happening around the city. Add to it a wide range of world-class dining and retail options to choose from, and visitors can expect an adrenaline-charged weekend with unforgettable moments to be shared with friends and loved ones.
Alongside the Formula 1 race will be performances by international artistes like Mayday, Robbie Williams, John Legend, Jennifer Lopez, Pet Shop Boys and Ziggly Martin.
Access to the concerts is included in all three-day race tickets. Single-day ticket holders need a valid ticket for the same day of the concert.
Fans from India also stand a chance to win a pair of ticket upgrades to the Green Room (worth over Rs 407,000), with the purchase of any pair of the three-day 2014 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix Grandstand, Walkabout or Combination ticket. To qualify, entrants must register their ticket transaction number on www.singaporegp.sg. Only tickets bought before August 15 are eligible to be entered into the draw.
