Hello.
I am British currently living in Singapore with my American Partner. We plan to apply for our UK Unmarried Partner’s visa in September when we will have been living together for 2 years. However, we may wish to leave Singapore sooner – say June. And then go to visit some family in the UK and then the US and the travel around a bit. Early september we will apply for our visa.
But my question is: would this count? Can we count time travelling as ‘living togther’ if it’s after a 20 month period of living in one flat? I’m worried it wont count.
Another thing we were planning was leaving in a frieghter in August, which would arrive in the UK in September. (We would then rent a flat, and fly out to US to apply from there.) Therefore we could claim 23 months in the flat, 1 month reisdent on the HSS Whatever.
Or technically we could go do our travels, and keep the flat here in Singapore until the lease expires in September. But that would be very pricey. And we need that money for the financial requirement!
Any help on this would be really appreciated. Was anyone is a similar situation aand rejected? We’re graduating Grad School and eager to start finding work, which we cant do if we keep getting rejected for visas. Thank you.
Meeting the 2 year requirement for the Unmarried Partners visa.
