SINGAPORE: More than 20 of those passengers involved in the bus crash in Redang on Sunday are now returning to Singapore.
One passenger was killed when the bus crashed into a ravine. Another two passengers were severely injured and remained in hospital.
The double-decker bus was carrying 38 passengers, including people from Singapore, the United States, France, China and India. They were returning to Singapore from Pulau Redang.
All 38 passengers bought their packages from Sany Travel Tour.
The company has been in operation since 1992. It said that this is the first serious case it has handled.
Both the owner of the company and a business partner made their way to Redang as soon as they were aware of the accident.
“At this point in time, the bus that we send up are ferrying those people who are discharged from the hospital. They are on the way back now,” said Michael Sim, owner of Sany Travel Tour.
Sim added: “We are doing everything possible. We are also helping the other foreigners to get visa to visit the loved ones who are still in the hospital.”
