FAMILIARISATION TRIP: Members of the Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association Perak branch get to know Marine Life Park in Resorts World Sentosa
IPOH: TWENTY-EIGHT members of the Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association (MCTA) Perak branch visited the Marine Life Park in Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore, recently.
The tour guides found the familiarisation trip to the world’s largest oceanarium to be an enriching experience.
MCTA Perak branch chairman Jimmy Goh, who led the group, said it was an attractive destination for going on holiday with family members and friends.
“It is also a fun place for students to go on an educational tour as they will get to learn interesting facts about the ocean and sea creatures in Southeast Asia,” he said.
The Marine Life Park, which opened last year, has more than 800 species of marine animals in 65 million litres of water.
These include hammerhead sharks, jellyfish, manta rays and giant grouper. The fish can be viewed through an acrylic panel that is 70cm thick, 36m wide and 8m high. It’s the largest in the world.
Goh said it was an opportunity for the members to learn firsthand about the offers and promotions at the resort.
“After the trip, they know which of their customers would appreciate a package trip to Marine Life Park,” he added.
“Since they had the chance to explore the park for themselves, they would also have no trouble explaining or recommending it.”
He said it was important to keep up to date with the latest tourist attractions.
