Tour agency Tourist World Travel Services and its director have been fined for operating without a travel agent’s licence. The tour agency was fined $7,500 and its director, Seah Juat Ngoh fined $4,500.
In a statement on Monday, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said that after checks and an enforcement raid were carried out, the tour agency was found to have continued business even after its licence was revoked.
STB had revoked the licence of the tour agency in August 2011 after receiving complaints from the public for non-delivery of services.
The Board urged the public to exercise due diligence by looking out for the displayed licence of the tour agency before making purchases.
