THE AMERICAS


Ronen Nissenbaum has moved over to the Waldorf=Astoria as Managing Director. He takes over from Eric Long who had been overseeing the hotel for 20 years and is retiring. Nissenbaum is the former President and Chief Executive Officer for the New York Plaza.


Hermann Elger is now the General Manager at the St. Regis New York, replacing Paul Nash. Elger was most recently the General Manager of the Montage Beverly Hills and the former General Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Cancun. He spent 18 years with Ritz-Carlton.


David Wolfgram has moved to Daphne’s Greek Café as President and Chief Executive Officer. He was most recently the President and Chief Executive Officer for Black Angus Steakhouse. Wolfgram is the former President and Chief Executive Officer for Forklift Brands.


Felipe Espinoza has joined Grace Hotels as Head of Americas, based in New York. He was most recently with Rocco Forte Hotels as General Manager of the Verdura Golf Spa Resort in Sicily. Ivan Artoli took over for him at Verdura.


Sage Hospitality has named Frederick Kleisner Area Managing Director for the Oxford Hotel and the Crawford Hotel at Denver Union Station. He had previously spent six years as General Manager of Portland’s the Nines.


Bernard Sarme has been appointed General Manager for the Magdalena Grand Beach Golf Resort in Tobago. He is the former General Manager at Cap Juluca, the Bora Bora Lagoon Resort and the Sonesta Beach Resort, Sharm El Sheik. Sarme was the Managing Director of La Samanna for Orient Express from 2005 to 2009.


Balendra Nagesvaran has been named Vice President of Hotel Operations for North America at Sofitel and General Manager for the Sofitel New York. He was most recently the Area General Manager and General Manager for the Sofitel Miami.


Jon Gersonde has been appointed Managing Director at Turnberry Isle Miami. For the past six years, he had overseen the Mauna Kea Resort in Hawaii and is the former General Manager for the Royal Hawaiian.


Joerg Rotenberg has been promoted to Vice President Operations for Elite Island Resorts in Barbados. For the past two years, he had served the company as Regional Director of Operations after holding the position of Project Director for the Sun Group.


David Kirken has joined La Costa Resort and Spa as Managing Director. Kirken was most recently the General Manager of the Arizona Biltmore. He had previously served three years as Resort Manager at La Quinta Resort Club and overseen rooms for the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua and the former Ritz-Carlton Las Vegas.


Joseph Fisher is now in Florida at the Marco Beach Ocean Front Resort as General Manager. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage for the Waldorf Astoria Park City.


Gino Caliendo has been appointed General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. For the past six years, he had been serving as General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio.


Donald Cook has been appointed General Manager at the Hilton Shreveport. He is the former General Manager of the Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista and the Hotel Minneapolis.


Cathy Matthews-Kane has been named Club General Manager for the Country Club of Colorado at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. She is the former Director of Membership for the Colorado Springs Country Club.


Anna Gaffney has been appointed General Manager at the Verb Hotel in Boston. She is the former Director of Sales and Marketing for the Holiday Inn Manhattan View and the Crowne Plaza Somerset.


The Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner has named Daniel Amato General Manager. He was most recently serving as General Manager at the Grand Hyatt Washington, D.C. Amato is the former General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Reston, the Hyatt Regency West Houston and the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas.


Bob Edwards has returned as General Manager to the Gilchrist Club in Florida. He held the same title from 2010 to 2012 and is the former General Manager of the Kessler Canyon Ranch in DeBeque.


Tom Garcia has been appointed Vice President and General Manager at the Eaglewood Resort Spa, taking over from Michael Welly. Garcia will continue to serve as Vice President of Operations for Benchmark Hospitality. He is the former Vice President and Regional Manager for Noble House Hotels Resorts.


Paulo Pena has been appointed Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Latin America, at the Wyndham Hotel Group. He was most recently with Starwood Hotels Resorts as Vice President, Global Partnerships.


Kevin Karau has been appointed General Manager at the Timber Ridge Lodge Waterpark in Wisconsin. He was most recently the Director of Operations for sister property, the Grand Geneva Resort Spa.


Mark Juliano has been appointed President at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem. He was most recently in Singapore at the Marina Bay Sands as Senior Vice President and Chief Casino Officer. Juliano is the former President and Chief Operations Officer at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Chief Executive Officer at Trump Entertainment Resorts and President of Caesars Atlantic City.


Alex Lugo has been appointed General Manager at the Westin Jekyll Island, slated to open in January. Most recently, he was the Director of Operations for the Westin Buckhead.


Anne-Juliette Maurice has joined the Hotel Plaza Athénée New York as General Manager. For the past three years she was at the Setai Fifth Avenue as Director of Sales and Marketing.


Craig Forbus has joined Pacifica Hotels as General Manager of the Jamaica Bay Inn in Marina del Rey. He was most recently the General Manager for the Anabella Hotel in Anaheim.


Darryll Adams has been named General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia. He is the former Hotel Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island and the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort Naples.


The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami has appointed Kimberly Wilson General Manager. She was most recently serving in the same role for the Harbor Beach Marriott Resort and Spa in Fort Lauderdale.


Caroline Dyal has joined the SLS South Beach as Hotel Manager. For the past two years, she had been the General Manager of the Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara for Kimpton Hotels. Dyal is the former General Manager at the Hotel La Jolla and Hotel Manager for the Hotel Palomar.


Robert Megargle has been named Director of Operations for the W San Francisco. For the past two years, he had been in Hawaii as Director of Food and Beverage at the Westin Ka’Anapali Ocean Resort Villas on Maui. He is the former Director of Outlets for the W New York-Downtown.


Billy Alberigi has been promoted to Director of Operations for the Bardessono in Napa Valley. For the past five years, he had served the resort as Director of Property Management. Alberigi is the former Chief Engineer for Auberge Resorts at Solage Calistoga.


Claude Brock has been appointed Chief Financial Officer at Auberge Resorts. He was most recently with KSL Resorts as Director of Operational Finance.


Alison Cumberland has been appointed Chief Development Officer at Auberge Resorts. She most recently served as Senior Vice President, North American Full-Service Hotel Development, Western Region, at Marriott International.


Marcus Hotels Resorts and MCS Capital have named Thomas Riley Senior Vice President – Development. He was previously with Kimpton Hotels Restaurants as Vice President Acquisitions and Development for eight years.


Paul Ruiz has been appointed Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer at Summit Hotel Properties in Austin, taking over from Troy Hester who is retiring. Ruiz was most recently the Director of Global Corporate Accounting at Freescale Semiconductor.


Katarina Mezeiova has been appointed Director of Finance at the Westin Verasa Napa. She was most recently the Controller at Azul Hospitality Group in San Diego.


Martha Poulter has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Starwood Hotels Resorts Worldwide, taking over from Roger Berry, who is set to retire. Poulter most recently served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer for GE Capital.


Ami Grilly is now in New York as Director of Operations for MGM Hakkasan Hospitality. She was most recently overseeing the Hakkasan located in the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.


Alonso Barragan has been appointed Operations Manager at the Hotel Matilda in Mexico. For the past two years, he had been with the Viceroy Riviera Maya as Food and Beverage Manager. He had previously served in food and beverage roles at Jalousie Plantation in St. Lucia and the Tides South Beach.


Gabriel Sorgi has been named Regional Director at the Starr Restaurants Catering Group in New York. He is a former Principal with King Street Hospitality.


Matthew Stuhl has joined Flipside Hospitality as Director of Operations. For the past three years, he had been with the Kimpton Restaurant Group as Regional Director Restaurant Operations. He previously spent six years with Joie de Vivre Hotels.


Danny Cooper has been named Director of Food and Beverage at the St. Regis New York. He is the former Assistant Director of Food and Beverage for the InterContinental New York and the Peninsula New York.


Robert Jenny has moved to the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas as Director of Food and Beverage. The Cornell graduate was most recently serving as Director of Operations for the nearby Jefferson Hotel. He had previously served in food and beverage roles with the Four Seasons St Louis, the Four Seasons Jackson Hole and the Four Seasons New York.


Patrick Berwald has moved up the coast and joined the Loews Hollywood as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently in the same role for the Loews Coronado.


Darren Pound has joined the Loews Coronado Beach Resort as Director of Food and Beverage, taking over from Patrick Berwald. For the past three years, he had been with JC Resorts as Corporate Food and Beverage Director. Pound is the former Vice President of Food and Beverage for the Santa Catalina Island Company.


John Dexter has moved to the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently in the same role for the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza Chicago. Dexter is the former Director of Food and Beverage at the Canton Hilton and the Sheraton Naperville.


Bruno Roulleux is now in Rhode Island as Director of Food and Beverage for the Ocean House. Until a few months ago, he had overseen food and beverage at the Trump International Hotel and Tower Chicago.


Pieter Teune has been promoted to Director of Food and Beverage and joined the Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas. He is the former Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton Moscow.


Abe Berry has moved to the MGM Grand Las Vegas as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently in the same role for the Renaissance Las Vegas.


Carlo De Leon is now in Palm Springs as Director of Food and Beverage for the Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage for the Salamander Resort Spa in Virginia. De Leon is the former Assistant Director of Food and Beverage of Terranea Resort.


Brad Randall has returned to Miami as Director of Food and Beverage at Turnberry Isle. He was previously overseeing food and beverage for the Fontainebleau Miami Beach before taking on his most recently role as Vice President of Food and Beverage at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas.


Brian Dandro has been promoted to Director of Food and Beverage at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston and will continue in his current role as Executive Chef. He is the former Executive Sous Chef at the Hilton Cambridge and Resort Chef at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale.


Joseph Schuetz has joined the Sheraton Steamboat Resort as Director of Food and Beverage. Since 2010, he had been with the Steamboat Grand Hotel as Food and Beverage Manager.


Waldo Cesoni has joined Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica as Director of Restaurants. He had previously served in General Manager posts for Fleming’s, Nic’s Beverly Hills and the Grill on the Alley.


Seema Parthasarathy has joined Terlato Wines in New York as Market Development Manager. She was most recently theDirector of Food and Beverage at the Carlyle and is the former Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons San Francisco.


Ramón Ávila-Pérez has joined the W Retreat Spa Vieques as Director of Engineering. He is the former Director of Engineering at the Grace Bay Club on Turks Caicos and Director of Island Operations at the Peter Island Resort Spa.


Heather Jacobs has been promoted to Senior Vice President, International and Corporate Human Resources at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. She has been with the company since her graduation from Cornell in 1994 and was most recently serving as Vice President of Human Resources, EMEA.


Jackie Nixon has been named Corporate Director of Human Resources for the Gansevoort Hotel Group. She was most recently the Director of Human Resources at the Loews Regency Hotel. Nixon is the former Director of Human Resources for the Setai Fifth Avenue and the Mark Hotel.


Viviana Santisteban has joined the Four Seasons Costa Rica as Director of Human Resources. She was most recently in a similar position with the Biltmore in Florida. Santisteban is the former Director of Human Resources of Turnberry Isle and the Mandarin Oriental Miami.


Marcus Hotels Resorts has promoted Steve Martin to Vice President of Human Resources. He had previously served the group as Director of Benefits and, most recently, Assistant Corporate Director of Human Resources.


Deborah Zaharychuk has ventured out of hospitality to join Time Warner Cable in San Diego as Human Resources Manager. She had previously served as Corporate Director, Human Resources, with Manchester Resorts. She is the former Director of Human Resources at the Island Hotel, Raffles L’Ermitage Beverly Hills, and the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.


Brian Gipson has joined the Mandarin Oriental San Francisco as Director of Sales and Marketing. He was most recently serving in the same position for the Carmel Valley Ranch. Gipson is the former Corporate Director of Marketing at the Grand Del Mar.


Kasia Bronisz takes over from Brian Gipson as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Carmel Valley Ranch. She was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta.


Kerry Dyer has joined the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta as Director of Sales and Marketing, taking over from Kasia Bronisz. Dyer was most recently with the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Atlanta sales office as Director of Travel Industry Sales for The Americas.


Iván Bauzá has been promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing at the Setai Miami Beach. He joined the resort in 2010 and was most recently serving as Director of Sales.


Ray Messina has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner scheduled to debut in late 2015. He has been with Hyatt since 2000, most recently serving as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hyatt Regency Reston.


Monica Derchi has joined the W New York Times Square as Director of Sales and Marketing. She was most recently the Director of Sales for the London New York and the London West Hollywood.


The Aruba Marriott Resort Stellaris Casino has appointed Carolina Voullieme Director of Sales and Marketing. She is the former Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ritz-Carlton Santiago, the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, and the San Juan Marriott Resort Stellaris Casino.


Stephen Nass has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Loews Boston Hotel. Most recently, he served as Area Director of Sales and Marketing for Twin Tier Hospitality.


Meredith Voller has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at the Edgewater slated to reopen in August. She is the former Director of Sales and Marketing at the Sax Chicago, and Director of Sales for the Hollywood Roosevelt.


Stephanie Happ has been appointed Director of Sales at the Playa Largo Resort Spa in Key Largo slated to open mid 2015. For the past two years she had served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the River Terrace Inn in Napa.


Amy Esnault has joined the sales team at El Encanto in Santa Barbara. She had previously served in sales positions with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for an accumulative 14 years and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts for four years. Most recently she was with the Langham Huntington Pasadena.


Jennifer Long has joined Langham in San Francisco as Western Region Sales Manager. Long was most recently with Noble House as Director of National Accounts. She is a former Senior Sales Manager for Cavallo Point Lodge in Sausalito, and the Clift San Francisco.


Jenna Spittler has been appointed Leisure Sales Manager at L’Auberge Del Mar in San Diego. Most recently, Spittler served as Director of Leisure Sales for both the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa and the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort Spa.


Thomas Bellec is the new Executive Chef at the Beverly Wilshire taking over from Gilles Arzur who is now at the Four Seasons Dubai. Bellec was most recently the Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Toronto. He is the former Executive Sous Chef for the Four Seasons Boston and the Four Seasons Resorts Lana’i.


Cyrille Pannier has been named Executive Chef for the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. Since 2007, he had been serving in the same position at the Four Seasons Hampshire. Pannier is the former Executive Chef of the Four Seasons Nevis and Executive Sous Chef of the Four Seasons Dallas.


Olivier Belliard has been appointed Executive Chef at the St. Regis San Francisco. He was most recently the Executive Chef for the St. Regis Le Morne Peninsula Resort.


Jason Prendergast has moved over to the Loews Santa Monica as Executive Chef. For the past five years he had been down the street as Executive Sous Chef at the Fairmont Miramar. He is the former Executive Sous Chef at Shutters on the Beach and the Four Seasons Chicago.


Jeremy Pacheco has returned to Society Café Encore in Las Vegas to take the post of Executive Chef. He had previously served the restaurant as Sous Chef before taking on his most recent post as Executive Chef at Lon’s at the Hermosa Inn in Arizona.


Le Méridien Chicago – Oakbrook Center has appointed Franco Diaz Executive Chef. Diaz moves from the Drake where he had served as Executive Chef for the past year. He is the former Executive Sous Chef of the St. Regis Aspen, the St. Regis Princeville and the St. Regis Bal Harbour.


Adam Hayes has been appointed Executive Chef at the Barnsley Resort in Georgia. He most recently served as the Executive Chef for the Red Stag Grill at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville.


Ezra Duker has joined the Mainland Inn in Philadelphia as Executive Chef. For the past two years, he had been serving as Executive Sous Chef at Morimoto Napa. He is the former Chef de Cuisine for Block 16 at the Sebastian in Vail.


Brett Montgomery has been appointed Executive Chef of the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. He was most recently the Executive Chef at the Renaissance Cleveland.


Eric Chopin has been named Executive Chef at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. He is the former Executive Chef for Levy Restaurants in Miami, following seven years as Executive Chef of the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead.


The Loews Coronado Bay Resort has named Nicolas Bour Executive Chef. He was most recently in a similar role at Rancho Bernardo Inn’s restaurant Avant.


Sean Massey has returned to Northern California and Morimoto Napa to take on the role of Chef de Cuisine. He had previously served as Chef de Partie at Auberge du Soleil and Sous Chef at Morimoto Napa. He was most recently the Executive Sous Chef at Morimoto Maui.


Jason Niederkorn has joined the Hotel Jerome in Aspen as Chef de Cuisine. He had previously served in culinary positions with Ricard Brasserie and Liquor Bar in Snowmass Village, the Blue Plate Restaurant Group and the former 8730 Restaurant in West Hollywood.


Kalyana Krishnamoorthy has joined the Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles at L.A. LIVE as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage. He is the former Director of Food and Beverage at the St. Regis Doha.


Mario Cabezas has joined Club 96 at Villas Del Mar in Los Cabos as General Manager. For the past seven years, he had been with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, most recently at Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico. He had previously served in food and beverage management posts with the Ritz-Carlton Jakarta and the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman.


Laurent Ertle has been named General Manager for Giada at the Cromwell in Las Vegas. He is the former Assistant General Manager for the Eiffel Tower Restaurant at the Paris Las Vegas.


Steve Springer has been named General Manager for Bouchon Beverly Hills. He was most recently the Assistant General Manager for the Innovative Dining Group at BOA Steakhouse West Hollywood. He is also the former General Manager and Vice President of Operations at First Hope Downtown Supper Club.


Paolo Novello has joined the Park Hyatt New York as Restaurant General Manager. For the past three years, he had been with New York’s Lincoln Restaurant as Restaurant Director. He is the former Assistant General Manager at Per Se and Fiamma.


Rodrigo Ibanez has been promoted to Director of Rooms at Terranea Resort. He joined the resort in 2009 and was most recently serving as Front Office Manager.


Kelly Canizaro has returned to New York and joined the Surreyas Director of Rooms. Canizaro had served as Front Office Manager at the Carlylebefore taking on her recent post in Santa Barbara as Rooms Division Manager for El Encanto.


Ernesto Gonzalez is joining El Encanto as Director of Rooms, taking over from Kelly Canizaro. For the past three years, Gonzalez had been with the Beverly Hills Hotel, most recently as Front Office Manager. He is the former Front Office Manager at the former Hotel Oceana in Santa Barbara.


Steven Chou has been promoted to Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons Houston. He joined the hotel in 2012 as Assistant Director of Rooms. He had previously served in rooms management positions at the Four Seasons Dallas and the Four Seasons Vail.


Shane Mcweeny has joined the Beverly Hills Hotel as Director of Rooms. He was most recently the Director of Operations for the Hotel Commonwealth in Boston. Mcweeny is the former Front of the House Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Boston.


The Sheraton Steamboat Resort has promoted Gatlynn Hicks to Director of Rooms. She has been with the resort since 2006, most recently as Rooms Manager.


The St. Regis San Francisco has appointed Randy Pierce Spa Director at Remède Spa. He was most recently in a similar post with the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay. Pierce is the former Spa Operations Manager for the Ritz-Carlton Orlando.


Amy Olthoff has been named Spa Director for the Park Hyatt New York. She is the former Spa Manager for the Montage Beverly Hills.


Arielle Feinberg has been appointed Spa Director of the Heavenly Spa at the Westin Diplomat Resort Spa. She is the former Spa Director for Rancho Valencia and the Gaylord Palms Resort Convention Center.


Popular hotelman Otto Svensson died unexpectedly and prematurely. He was 64 and resided in Big Canoe, Georgia, where he had just started as General Manager a few days before. Svensson spent 18 years with Ritz-Carlton prior to following founder Horst Schulze to the West Paces Hotel Group, where he stayed five years.


EUROPE


Grace Hotels has announced the appointment of Marco Novella as Chief Operating Officer. He was most recently with Belmond (formerly Orient Express Hotels) as General Manager of the Villa San Michele in Florence. Novella is the former General Manager of the Gritti Palace in Venice.


Steven Daines has been appointed Chief Executive Officer Hotel Services United Kingdom, Ireland, Benelux, Switzerland and Russia, at Accor in Paris. He had been serving as Managing Director of Ibis Budget and HotelF1 France since 2012.


Björn Spaude has been named General Manager at the Castell Son Claret in Mallorca. He is the former Managing Director of HRC Hospitality Real Estate Consulting.


Serge Ethuin is the new General Manager of the Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris, taking over from Omer Acar. Ethuin was most recently overseeing the Rome Cavalieri. He is the former General Manager of the Hilton Arc de Triomphe (now the Hotel du Collectionneur), the Hilton Rome Airport and the Hilton Madagascar.


Alessandro Cabella takes over from Serge Ethuin at the Rome Cavalieri as General Manager. Cabella was most recently overseeing the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice. He is the former General Manager for the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort Spa and the Hotel Mirabeau.


Martino Acampora has been named General Manager at J.K. Place Capri. He was most recently overseeing the Doubletree by Hilton Acaya Golf Resort.


Pablo Flores has been named General Manager at the Westin Palace, Madrid. He is the former General Manager of the Westin Resort Spa, Los Cabos and the Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel Convention Center.


Jan Peter van der Ree has been appointed General Manager of the Park Hyatt Zurich. He takes over from Jacques Morand, who will be taking over van der Ree’s previous position as General Manager at Grand Hyatt Istanbul. Morand previously served as General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Belgrade while van der Ree is the former General Manager of the Grand Hyatt Dubai.


Laurent Garrido has joined Clinique La Prairie in Montreux as General Manager. For the past three years, he had been overseeing the Hôtel Royal Evian. Garrido is the former General Manager of the Sheraton Hotel Tahiti Resort Spa and Resident Manager of the Dinarobin Hotel Golf Spa.


Duarte Bon de Sousa has been named General Manager of the Château Saint-Martin Spa in the South of France. He was most recently managing sister property L’Apogée Courchevel, overseeing its first season.


Christian Fomm has been named Hotel Manager at the St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort. He had previously served as Hotel Manager for the Hilton Nuremberg.


Meliá Hotels has appointed Juan Asín General Manager at the ME London. The Cornell graduate is the former General Manager of the Meliá Luxemburg and Hotel Manager of the Meliá White House.


Marc Denton has been appointed General Manager at Amanzoe in Greece. He was most recently overseeing the Oberoi Mauritius.


Charis Michael has been appointed Hotel Manager at the Hilton Cyprus replacing Marwan Ragheb who has left the company. Michael was most recently the Director of Operations at the Hilton Athens.


Diogo Roquette has returned for the third time to the Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon to take on the position of Director of Food and Beverage. He had previously served the hotel as Conference Service Manager from 1999 to 2002 and returned in 2006 to assume the role of Director of Catering. He was most recently serving as General Manager at the Terminus Hotel in Angola.


Francesco Galletti has been appointed Director of Food and Beverage at the London Marriott Hotel County Hall. He is the former Restaurant Manager at Avista Fine Dining Restaurant in Mayfair and the Fifth Floor Restaurant at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge.


Nora Foreman has been appointed Director of Business Development at the Hilton London Metropole. She was most recently in Dubai as the Regional Director of Revenue Management for the Jumeirah Group.


James Wharton has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Grosvenor House in London. He is the former Director of Sales and Marketing at the Renaissance Bangkok.


Sarah Baptiste has been promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing at the Landmark Hotel London. She has been with the hotel since 2001, most recently serving as Director of Sales.


Robert Prendergast has been named Executive Chef at the Waldorf Hilton in London. He was previously the Executive Chef at the Grosvenor Guoman Hotel, Victoria.


Davide Bisetto has joined the Hotel Cipriani in Venice as Executive Chef. Bisetto had previously served in the kitchens at the Four Seasons Milano, Carpaccio restaurant in the Hotel Royal Monceau and Casadelmar in Corsica.


Serge Gouloumes has been named Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage at Domaine des Etangs Chateau Spa in France. He is the former Executive Chef for Le Mas Candille and the Miramar Beach Hotel, both in France. Some may remember him as Executive Chef of the Sofitel Ma Maison Los Angeles, from 1989 to 1991.


ASIA AND THE PACIFIC


Johan Eliasch has been appointed Chairman at the Aman Group, taking over from legendary founder, Adrian Zecha. Eliasch was most recently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Head N.V.


Vladislav Doronin has been appointed Chief Executive Officer at the Aman Group. He is the Chairman and Founder of the Capital Group in Russia.


Hyatt Hotels has named David Udell (Cornell ’82) Group President ­ ASPAC, based in Hong Kong, taking over from Larry Tchou. Udell most recently served Hyatt as Senior Vice President, Operations.


Matthew Tripolone has been appointed Head of Development, Australasia, at InterContinental Hotels Group based in Sydney. He is the former General Manager, Development Pacific, for Accor.


James Kaplan has been named Senior Vice President Development for the Minor Hotel Group, based in Bangkok. He was most recently with Fairmont Raffles Hotels International as Senior Vice President Development for Asia Pacific and India, based in Singapore.


Christoph Schmidinger takes over from William Mackay as General Manager at the Four Seasons Hong Kong. Schmidinger was most recently the Regional Vice President and General Manager at the Four Seasons New York. He is the former General Manager of the Regent Kuala Lumpur, the Regent Jakarta, and the Ritz-Carlton Chicago.


Michael Cottan has been named General Manager for a second time at the Shangri-La Sydney. Cottan was previously the General Manager of the hotel from 2003 to 2008. Since 2011, he had been serving Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts as Executive Vice President for Southeast Asia and Oceania, based in Singapore.


Hakan Ozel has been named General Manager at the Shangri-La Tianjin, slated to open this summer. He was most recently the Resident Manager at the Shangri-La Beijing.


Anthony Quin has been named General Manager at the Mövenpick Hanoi. For the past two years, he had been overseeing the Hilton Seychelles Resort Spa.


Walter Hess has been appointed General Manager of the Chedi Club Jimbaran in Bali, slated to open later this year. He was most recently the Resident Manager at the Nam Hai in Hoi An, Vietnam.


Erik Stuebe has been appointed General Manager at the InterContinental Fiji. He had previously overseen the Chateau Elan Hotels and Resort in Australia before taking on his most recent role as Director at Chioggia Investments.


Mete Atakuman has been appointed General Manager at the Jumeirah Guangzhou. He was most recently the General Manager at the Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel in Baku.


Atul Lall has been appointed Vice President of Operations and General Manager at Claridges New Delhi. He was most recently at the Fairmont Jaipur as General Manager.


Oliver Kreuzer has joined the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo as Hotel Manager. For the past four years, he had been the Resident Manager at the Mandarin Oriental Manila after joining the hotel in 2007 as Executive Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage. Kreuzer is the former Director of Food and Beverage at the Fullerton Hotel Singapore.


Sven Fitjer has been appointed Hotel Manager at the Laguna in Bali. Most recently, he was the Executive Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage, at the Sheraton on the Park in Sydney.


Duncan Gray has been named Resident Manager at the Marina Mandarin Hotel in Singapore. For the past two years, he had served as Executive Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage, at the Westin Bund Center.


Howard Leigh has been appointed Chief Financial Officer at Anantara Hotels, Resorts Spas in Bangkok. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Outback Steakhouse International.


Denise Matthijsse has been named Director of Food and Beverage at the Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives. She was most recently with the Jumeirah Himalayas Shanghai as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage.


Scott Hamilton has joined the Hilton Hawaiian Village as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently the Vice President of Joint Venture Operations for BR Guest Hospitality. He is the former Director of Food and Beverage for L’Auberge du Lac and the MGM Grand Las Vegas.


Marco Tiraferri has been named Executive Assistant Manager Food and Beverage for the Shangri-La Makati. He is the former Director of Food and Beverage at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur and the Forte Village Resort.


Tim Gustie has returned to Hawaii to take over as Director of Outlet Operations at the MODERN Honolulu. For the past two years, he had been with the Beverly Hills Hotel as Director of Food and Beverage. He had previously overseen food and beverage at the Four Seasons Wailea before moving on the similar posts with the Beverly Wilshire and the Four Seasons Santa Barbara The Biltmore.


Tamara Kobiolke has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Westin Siray Bay Resort and Spa in Phuket. She was most recently in the UK as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hotel Missoni Edinburgh.


Shalabh Arora has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ritz-Carlton Bangalore. He is the former Director of Sales and Marketing for the Trident Bandra Kurla.


Carlos Wong has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Dorsett Tsuen Wan in Hong Kong. He was most recently the Account Director – Travel at the Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel. He is the former Associate Director of Sales at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.


Hudson Mitchell has been appointed Director of Sales at the InterContinental Fiji. He was most recently the Director of Sales at the Namale Resort Spa in Savusavu.


Stacy Manzo has been named Director of Sales at the Aqua Kaua’i Beach Resort in Hawaii. She was most recently the Account Director – Leisure Sales, at the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas and the Sheraton Kaua’i.


Etienne de Villiers has been named Director of Public Relations for the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok. He is the former Cluster Public Relations Manager for the Minor Hotel Group and Public Relations Manager at the OneOnly Cape Town, South Africa.


Simon Song has joined the Four Seasons Beijing as Executive Chef. For the past two years, he had served in the same position at the Four Seasons Maldives at Kuda Huraa.


The Four Seasons Jakarta has promoted Eric Pellen to Executive Chef. He joined the hotel in 2013 as Executive Sous Chef. Pellen had previously served in the kitchens of the InterContinental Cairo, the InterContinental Seoul and the Al Bustan Palace in Muscat.


Oliver Weber has been named Executive Chef at the MGM Macau. He was most recently in Beijing as Executive Chef for Shangri-La at the China World Summit Wing. He is the former Executive Chef for the Shangri-La Tokyo and Executive Sous Chef for the Shangri-La Bangkok.


Nick Honeyman has been appointed Executive Chef at the Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour. He was most recently the Executive Chef at the Commons in Takapuna.


Former hotelier and Lausanne alumnus Fabrice de Barsy died in Myanmar May 31. After three years as Director of Entertainment at the OneOnly Royal Mirage in Dubai, he had taken his talents into the nightclub business, operating venues in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Singapore and Bangkok. Most recently, he had developed a furniture business in Yangon.


MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA


Philip Bryson has been appointed Senior Vice President, Middle East and North Africa, for Marriott International in Dubai. He has been with Marriott for over 20 years in various posts including General Manager for the Renaissance Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments Mumbai.


Samir Baidas has been named Chief Development Officer for Middle East and Africa at Marriott International in Dubai. He joined Marriott in 2004 as Vice President Development.


Alain Kallas has been appointed Vice President of Development ­ Design at the Jumeirah Group in Dubai. Since 2010, he had been serving the group as Regional Director of Development – Design MEASA.


Maha Ali Maisari has been appointed Vice President, Corporate Strategy, at the Jumeirah Group in Dubai. She is the former Director of Strategy Development and Deployment with Jumeirah’s parent company, Dubai Holdings.


Jean-Paul Martin has been appointed Area General Manager, Mauritius, at Centara Hotels Resorts, based at the Centara Grand Azuri Resort Spa Mauritius. He is the former Hotel Manager at Sandals Resorts, Grenada.


Mark Carnazzola has been named General Manager of the Nobu Hotel Riyadh, scheduled to open later this year. He is the former Director of Rooms at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park and Area Director of Finance, London, for the Maybourne Hotel Group.


Wayne Kafcsak takes over from Paul Van Franck as Managing Director of Frégate Island Private in the Seychelles. Kafcsak has previously overseen the Fairmont Royal Pavillion in Barbados and the Raffles Canouan Island St. Vincent.


Christophe Mousset has been appointed General Manager at the Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel, taking over from Mete Atakuman. Mousset is the former Hotel Manager of the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray.


The Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel Spa in Kuwait has promoted Hakan Petek to General Manager. He joined the resort in 2010 as Executive Assistant Manager, Rooms.


Duarte Correia has been named General Manager at the Nira Yana Hotel, which opens on Pemba Island, Zanzibar in December. He was most recently the General Manager at Shanti Maurice in Mauritius.


Guido Farina has been appointed General Manager at Shanti Maurice in Mauritius, taking over from Duarte Correia. Farina was most recently overseeing the Lone Pine Hotel in Penang.


Dhiren Pereira has moved to take over for Marc Denton as General Manager of the Oberoi Mauritius. Pereira was most recently in the same position for the Oberoi, Sahl Hasheesh.


Erik Huyer has been appointed General Manager at the Corp Executive Hotel in Amman. For the past seven years, he had been the General Manager of the Hotel Al Khozama in Riyadh, a Rosewood Hotel.


Christophe Chabaud has been named Hotel Manager of the Four Seasons Istanbul at the Bosphorus. He was most recently serving as Resort Manager at the Four Seasons Bora Bora. Chabaud’s history with Four Seasons included the position of Director of Food and Beverage at both the Four Seasons Sharm El Sheik and the Four Seasons Hualalai.


Oussama Chalak has been promoted to Resident Manager at the Grand Millennium Dubai Hotel. He joined the hotel six years previously and was most recently serving as Director of Rooms.


Brian Marcus has been promoted to Assistant General Manager Business Operations at the Tokyo American Club. He joined the club in 2010 as Director of Food and Beverage. Marcus had previously overseen food and beverage for the Hilton San Diego Bayfront and the Renaissance Las Vegas.


The Four Seasons Sharm el Sheikh has named Tamer Refaat Director of Sales and Marketing. For the past fourteen years, he had been with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, most recently as Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Egypt.


Deepak Dahiya has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ajman Palace Hotel Resort. He was most recently with the Dubai Marine Beach Resort Spa as Director of Sales and Marketing.
